Leaving the Rex cinema, hand-in-hand with Stephen Boyd,
walking home in the pouring rain.
Soaked tee-shirt clinging to every curve,
accentuating bra-less nipples.
Panda eyes sliding southwards,
gradually darkening pale pouting lips:
a sensual mingling of grease paints.
Later, I am Brigitte Bardot
singing in the bath,
a world-wide phenomenon
in her lily scented steam spotlight,
and someone else is reaching through the haze
of imagination's infinity, someone intimately known:
Ursula, my cinematic alter-ego
plugged into the undertone of lust
where all-absorbing obsession is the norm.
Suddenly alive: Lambert in my bed
in the dark. Oh such passion! There,
on the outer limits of experience, dying
for the sadist, the cold-blooded murderer.
Ursula and Lambert...that night Heaven fell.
I am currently staying in the heart of the New Forest. Connection is rather poor, but I will try my hardest to visit you all...:)

My dear, Ygraine...this is so beautifully written. Where but upon the wide screen do our alter egos become larger than life. Where one can live or die at the stroke of a pen. Where fantasy becomes reality. And where we can fall in and out of love within two hours...love this!!!
ReplyDeleteBTW...where I would remain 35 years old. Not to young and not to old :)

I totally agree, dear Jan...35 is a perfect age to remain forever!
DeleteThis brilliant, but disturbing movie was a bit before my time...but I find it utterly haunting...
Thank you so much for your more than kind comment, my dear friend!

A Hug :))
Wonderful images in this, and drama and so much more to escape into.
ReplyDeleteIt was one of those old movies that just sort of got stuck in my mind when I was a teenager!
DeleteIt seemed somehow exciting yet distinctly disturbing.
Many thanks, Anthony.:)

ReplyDeleteI love this line: "Panda eyes sliding southwards"
Oh thank you, Winter...and so good to hear from you!
DeleteHope you're having a super weekend...:))
Beautifully playful. The way I like my poetry. Served with lashes of light-hearted, feel-good humour. Thanks. I enjoyed this.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from London.
Wow...you've just made my day...truly!
DeleteI was really hoping it would come across as playful. The subject matter could just as easily have made it appear much too serious!
So thank you...so, so much.:)
Wishing you a great weekend! :))

DeleteDo hope you have been well, and have enjoyed your travels.
Have a brilliant weekend! :))
Pretty cool. I feel a frantic pace in reading this, like a flip book flapping pages, an old movie reel you know. And all our little personalities popping up on the screen, if even for a moment.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time in the forest.
Oh wow...many thanks, X!
DeleteYes, I guess there is a little bit of each of us in that vintage movie. Maybe that's why it has stuck in my mind!
It was great to escape to the forest. Wish I could do it more often!! :))
Beautiful my friend! You have such a talent!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, Sweetie! You are so kind.:))
