THE PROMISE

I'll come when you're in deep despair,
in the darkest dead of night;
when innermost terrors leave their lair
to fill a weary mind laid bare
with torment and abject fright.

I'll come when emotions overwhelm,
when they wear your heart away.
I'll quickly come and take the helm
and steer your mind to higher realm
where positive thoughts hold sway.

So listen! Fast approaches the hour
when from despair you long to flee:
now are there not creeping over you
strange sensations that comfort you -
forerunners of some alien power...
harbingers of me?

Such a promise.. Where were you in my weaker days, when these things could penetrate the crust that has now formed?

    1. I guess this was a sort of plea really...I still haven't learned to form that crust you speak of...and so wish a protector would come...*chuckles*
      Many thanks, Anthony!

    1. It would be amazing, wouldn't it...if there were a being there inside our minds, who could ease the worries and the pain?
But, I guess for now, self-reliance must suffice...;)
      Many thanks, Brian.

  11. I have been there and seen them these past months, dear Ygraine, the darkest hours and the pain. Now I have found the light again at least I feel like me again. The magic is beginning to grow inside me once more. It amazes me that I am visiting here today and you have written this beautiful verse...it is almost as if it was written for me. But...I know that it was not for there are many suffer who now and their fight has just begun.
It is so wonderful to visit here once again...it feels comforting to me~

    1. Oh my dear, dear friend...I feel I want to reach out to you...to hug you and ease your suffering. These are difficult times...I feel that too...but in comforting each other as best we can, perhaps they will in time be healed. I really hope so anyway.
Please, dear Jan, promise me you will never suffer alone...I am here for you always...:)

      Much Love & Hugs xoxoxo

    1. Oh my dear Margie...I can't begin to tell you how happy it makes me...to feel I have helped ease your pain in some small way.
How my heart goes out to you in your suffering...believe me, I know how it feels to lose a good friend - I lost mine 17 months ago - and it still hurts with a rawness that makes it feel like only yesterday...:(

Oh Sweetie...I am sending much Love & Hugs back...with all my heart.:)

    2. Oh, dear Ygraine, you too know the pain of losing a dear friend.
I am so very sorry and wish so much it was not the case for you!
Isn't it so very painful ... my heart is so heavy and quite broken as I know yours is as well.

I am thankful to know you and your poem did lift me up and I needed that so badly so I thank you so much!

And I send all the love & hugs back to you! xo xo

    3. Oh I do know what you are going through.
People tell me it will get better with time...and I suppose, in a way, it does - with acceptance...but the pain never fully leaves.
I still often cry for my daughter...and I lost her 26 years ago, when she was only two weeks old. Sounds strange, I know, coming from a medium who regularly speaks with the "dead"...but it is the human, physical loss. That is what gets to me.
As I often tell people when they ask how I deal with loss in my own life, I am only human too!

Oh I am so happy to know my simple little poem has helped you. That means more to me than I could ever say.

You are always in my thoughts, Dear Friend.

      Love & Hugs xoxoxo

    4. Oh no!!!!!!
I am truly sorry to hear you lost your daughter when she was two weeks old, my heart breaks for you knowing that!
That is just so terribly heartbreaking, life can deal some cruel blows to us!
But we must go on but it is not easy!

I send you my deepest and heartfelt sympathy dear friend!

      Much love to you
      xo xo

    5. Dear, dear Margie...I honestly don't know how to thank you enough for the kindness you have given to me. It is appreciated more than you will ever know.
All my life, I had been aware of things that other members of my family seemed unable to see - such as deceased grandparents, aunts and uncles etc., but it wasn't until I lost my precious little Toyah that I felt the need to develop my mediumship skills further, I guess to avoid losing contact with her altogether...so some positivity did come from the tragedy. Really, she made me the person I am today. Now, helping others who are suffering the heartache of loss is my vocation in this life...because I really know how they are feeling...just as I know how you are feeling right now...so I am sending you Love and Light...and deepest compassion...

And thank you for your precious friendship, Margie...from the depths of my heart...xoxoxo
