SENTENCE

That day I travelled to find an answer,
I shook with fear as I sought out
the unfamiliar hospital. Then, when I found it
I stood outside, trying hard to calm my raging nerves.

Inside, a Covid-deserted waiting room,
walls covered in red warning signs: wear a mask,
social distancing.  Soon, a nurse ushered me
into a room that felt like doom.

Cold seeped in from an open window.
I shivered. The Judge was about to pass sentence.
I sat through eternity. In the silence between
I wished myself a million miles away

and not feeling so vulnerable, so flawed, so inferior -
but to be lounging instead in front of the TV
and sipping coffee, buried in scatter cushions; rather
than hearing the term "further investigation" define my future...

Phew, am I glad that is over...for now! 😊

  1. I hope the investigation finds nothing, just nothing.

What a strange time. Signs. Masks. Isolation. Probably the worst surroundings to be in while searching for answers like this.

    How are you, Ygraine?

Yes, a bit concerning while the hospitals are often a Covid hotspot. Still, I have a short break between visits now... don't have to return until March.
I am ok with things, thank you...just trying not to dwell on it too much!😊😊

Do hope all is good with you...and you are having a great weekend!

  3. There are times that we find ourselves searching for answers that deep inside of us we truly don't want to know the answers to and yet we need to know them for our own salvation. We grow weary from this labor day after day but our will to survive is stronger so we fight back with everything we can.
You, my beautiful soul sister are filled with the spirit and the splendor of the magical realm. Keep the enchantment that you hold inside you and let it mix with the medicine of the day... together you will have the healing of both worlds.

Indeed, this magical realm that you and I both inhabit will always keep us safe, no matter what we have to face in our outer life. I draw such strength from the inner realm in my darker moments...and, indeed, without having that to draw upon, I don't think I could have survived this long!
Dearest Soul Sister, you are such an inspiration to me too...you are so, so precious...

I do hope you are all doing ok there...and are staying safe and well.

All my love and hugs, always ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

  5. I do hope that when you have the further investigations and get clear and definitive answers that it is nothing but good news. I find hospitals scary unpleasant places at the best of times - which this is not.
As always holding you firmly in my heart.

Yes, I find them scary too...maybe mostly because my daughter and both parents died in one, so I guess I associate them with painful loss.πŸ˜•
Not looking forward to more biopsies, but at least I will learn what I am dealing with.

I do hope you are well, and are keeping your spirits up.😊😊
Have a lovely day...and give Jazz a hug from me!

  6. My sweet Ygraine,
The “COVID-19” from the beginning brought fright, fear and silence from the deserted streets. I started to feel empathy in people (at the beginning of the pandemic), then we went through the "lockdown" phase, with many people having to work in the "home office", due to the quarantine period (which we are still in), although many have abandoned irresponsibly (along with collective goodness).
In other words, the ($) spoke louder, without realizing what was nearby. True care for the health of the population was in the background, in the midst of a global pandemic, with world leaders allowing not only essential trade, but almost everything in advance. The result is there, lives and more lives being taken ahead of time, because of this abominable virus and the numbers are growing every day.
The agglomerations and this rebellion (of some), in not wearing the mask, is the result of social disrespect, in caring for the community's health.
Now, whether vaccines are effective or not? What we are asked to do is to have faith in pharmaceutical laboratories (the same ones that until today have not found a cure for AIDS), for example, however, we must have faith in our religious beliefs (whatever our faith) and not in pharmaceutical research, which must be 100% scientific.
It's like one of my phrases says:

"Our questions and answers are often trips without a return!"

We will wear our masks, maintain social distance until an effective vaccine brings the cure. We hope that the vaccines already launched will be successful. But that is also an unanswered question.
Many kisses to you and may this end of the year be good (as far as possible), hoping that in 2021 we can embrace.

    1. My dear friend Doug...we do, indeed, find ourselves in a strange new kind of world. There is a lot of kindness around...but also a lot of selfishness unfortunately.
One side effect of this dreadful pandemic that I find most unpalatable, is the surge of global scamming. How could anyone be so cruel as to scam people, when they are already on their knees under the burden of Covid 19? How on earth do they sleep at night? It is beyond my comprehension.
The way I see it, what everyone's needs is more love. We need to help each other, to respect each other. What difference does the colour of our skin, our beliefs, our sexual orientation, which language we speak, really make? None at all. We are all just people, one race. Humanity.
Your phrase, dear Doug, is so true... pharmaceutical research is only part of the solution, because it tends to ignore the spiritual aspect. And without that, we can never be totally whole.
And that is the part of myself I am working on...until the vaccine becomes available to complete the balance.
I somehow feel that we will eventually pull through, my friend.
Be strong...stay safe...and hold on firmly to your loved ones in the depths of your heart!❤

      Many Kisses xxx

you portrayed the intensity of situation poignantly indeed my precious friend

i had got my final words when the stomach ulcer was treated "rest upon your caution now" as according to his words there was no end for the disease as it had cross quite limit long ago and no cure can end it now but decrease it and he did what he could ,now i have to be extra careful with my food choice ,that i try all the time since years
if you are clear for now lets stay positive my friend and hopeful that all will be fine in future either
