Silence gnawed at you. And the terror
of being betrayed: a threatening dark enemy,
the piercing indifferent
destruction of bloody battle sword. After
the glowing sunrise, these were
the emotions that beset you. They filled
my vacant space, and when self-esteem
eluded you, this torment
took it's place. But I
was probably on the beach, just sunbathing
with Anna, no more immoral intent in me
than in the illicit lover
I'd never even imagined. A real lover
may have felt uneasy,
left with haste
when the grotesque malignance of your mistrust -
half victim, half inquisitor, totally
illogical and stuffed with your unexpressed past hurts -
crept relentlessly without hindrance
towards me through the sunlit streets,
through the crowded car park,
tainted my sun oil in it's brown-tinted bottle
and angrily glared at me
with the unjust accusations
that were rapidly becoming the norm.
My double life - the life you have invented
for me inside your head - is comically erotic,
is lived by an effigy wearing my face.
Monstrous allegations and emotional blackmail
have become the story of my life.
And the steps to our front door
have grown into a daunting,
treacherous mountain
that I no longer have the will to climb.
Thanks for your sharing... Greetings from Turkey:)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome...and thank you for your visit!😊😊

wow ...those steps..a treacherous mountain... the canvas is your mind and the medium is your words. I literally saw everything you wrote.

Sadly too true (far too true) for many.
ReplyDeleteBrilliantly written, heartbreakingly sad. And dangerous.
Not really sure where this one came from, just a seed of an idea that grew as I wrote!😉
DeleteThank you so much, my dear friend.😊😊
Hope you are having a good day...and hugs for Jazz!
Lots of love ❤❤❤
A very beautiful poem. This left a knot in my throat. "My double life - the life you have invented
ReplyDeletefor me inside your head - is comically erotic"
Greetings from London.
Many thanks, CiL...I really appreciate that!😊😊

__ Great to be able to visit you "Y", 'tis been such a long time!
ReplyDelete__ Here, yours is a grand and wonderous presentation; in each sunrise, there is a new chance to life. Sincerly,_m.
each growing sunrise
gives new love that cures earth's pain
dark to light to warm
So very good to be in touch again, Doug...you have been missed.
DeleteAnd thank you so much for these kind words...that I appreciate so much.😊😊
Hope you are doing ok...and have a great week!
Our unintended silence that comes from the virus that silenced the world, follows the terror of endless days. After sunrise, fear still extends its cold hands to us. I would like to live in one of your beautiful poems or canvases, because I would be safe there, in the hands of my sweet and dear friend Ygraine, who I love so much and who resides in my heart.
ReplyDeleteLots of kisses and a good weekend, always taking good care of herself.
My dear friend Doug...you are here in my thoughts and my heart already, and always will be.😊😊
DeleteThank you so much...your kindness is so, so appreciated!
Have a happy and safe week...

I hope that this poem of injustice assembled into sentences beautifully is not the one experiencing it, my dear friend Ygraine.
ReplyDeleteThe poetry text series has a deep feeling of heart, you write it down perfectly.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Fortunately not a personal experience, my friend.😉
DeleteIt was just one of those poems that appeared to write itself. It grew from a rather vague idea! Lol
So happy you enjoyed...and many thanks.😊😊
Have a super day, my dear friend!
A Hug x
Ygraine, I've given up on climbing many steps I once thought awaited me.
ReplyDeleteDear friend Lon...perhaps those particular steps didn't deserve you, as you are destined for much greater things? I think so. Definitely!
DeleteNever lose your sense of adventure...😊😊
You are truly a master of words!
ReplyDeleteAww, thank you Natalia...you are so kind!😊😊

Hallo my friend Ygraine's
ReplyDeleteBeautiful poetry friend ..
Verses contain a little emotion and a burst of heart.
Heart screaming remembering the past history .. maybe the present too.
Wherever now the world is completely uncertain ..
Let the people outside do the bad as they please
But we our souls must still be on the straight path ..
So that we are always safe
I'm sorry if my comments deviate far from your poetry ..
I hope you are all right there ...
Keep up the spirit .. stay healthy and safe there
Hug
Have a wonderful week
Regards
My dear friend Cherry...I certainly don't mind at all if your comments deviate. They are always so interesting and inspirational!😊😊
DeleteFor the first time in our lifetimes, we are faced with this global challenge. Makes you feel like it is a call for every nation to put aside our differences and unite to fight against this common deadly enemy.
There are some people doing really bad things, aren't there...but as you so rightly say, our individual souls must choose to do the right thing!😊😊
Thank you so much, dear friend...and please stay safe.
